When we were discussing locations for their engagement shoot, Margi told me that we could go “anywhere in Oregon.” That’s a pretty rad thing to tell a photographer, and immediately I thought of Manzanita, a little town on the northern Coast. I hadn’t been back out there since shooting a wedding there in 2010. We began our shoot at Oswald West State Park, now hands-down one of my favorite places “anywhere in Oregon.” We ran around the beach, the little caves, and all over the big log fields. Margi and Vince have an infectious energy with each other. Vince was more reserved throughout, until Margi suggested that we have a paint fight on the beach…

Favorite shot of the day!

Can’t wait for their wedding next year in Southern Oregon…another area of the State that’s new to me!

It has to be said: Rachel and Zach are one of the cutest couples around. I was so thrilled to be shooting their New Years’ Eve wedding this year. To everyone’s surprise, the day was bright and clear and sunny (though SO cold!), and we had a wonderful time taking pictures at the swanky, modern Hotel Modera before moving on to the couples’ stylish wedding venue, The Woods.

I was in love with Rachel’s full-skirted, tea-length gown…

A family friend generously made all of the pies…sooo delicious.

Congratulations, you two!

I love these two. Their energy and affection for each other is just infectious, and we spent most of our time together at Oaks Amusement Park in Sellwood just laughing. Seriously. I asked them at one point, rather misguidedly I’ll admit, if they wanted to do a more serious smile, and that only elicited louder laughs.

So looking forward to their New Years Eve wedding. Congratulations!
